NEWZ UPDATE - November 9, 2009

HOT NEWZ

  • Following Maurice Thompson's post-match attack, DCWL Deputy Commissioner Kevin "Killdozer" Alloy was swift in handing out punishment: Thompson was not only fined $1,000, but is also subject to "administrative dickery." This controversial decision to move "The Native" to the second tier of punishment was explained by Alloy:
    • "Pretend you have never seen the DCWL before, and only saw Thompson attacking Beckson. Consider the old axiom "sticks and stones may break my bones, but pouring rubbing alcohol into a Nazi's wounds just confirms to him that he's right about something everyone knows he's wrong about. Pretend that isn't Beckson there. What would you do?"
  • The Deputy Commissioner's office has already received a number of calls about this, but the matter appears closed. Thompson was set to challenge for the Dangerous Championship but has been removed from contention and has been placed in a handicap match against Complete Control.
  • So how will the Ark of Triocalypse Tournament work? It will be a twelve-team single-elimination tournament, with the winning team facing each each other in a three-way match to determine a final winner. Horrorshow, Unique Element, and the newly dubbed New Main Street Killas are registered as a team. Spirit of Wrestling and Shootfire Pro Wrestling are both expected to send teams to participate. The remaining seven teams will be drafted from the main roster of the DCWL in the wild card team lottery over the next seven days.
  • If you're wondering why The Annoyed Samoans didn't register as a team, they simply forgot, and their spot was snagged by Complete Control. Quinney and Blackstock are auctioning their third spot off to the highest bidder! As for RioPaah, Emshamo and Alebua, they will be entered into the wild card team lottery.
  • Among those unable to participate in the tournament are Julian Beckson and Leon Corella, who are participating in the Grand Championship match, and American Freebear, who will once again challenge for the Dangerous Championship. Derrick L. Ford is widely assumed to be out of the mix, considering who the next challenger for the Dangerous Championship is.
  • So how does a twelve-team tournament work? Long story short, when Shootfire's management changed hands, the DCWL briefly lost its lease on the arena in Sioux Falls. In order to make up for the shortfall, the DCWL had to seek out a local sponsor to secure the venue. Black Hole Breweries stepped up and to thank them, all DCWL employees are requested to include a product placement for Black Hole Brew's new blend: Golden Brown! Mmm, Golden Brown: Texture Like Sun!
  • "Dark Angel" Joshua Curtis makes his debut at "Drink Black Hole Brew" against the awesome challenge posed by The Great Atma. As well, Doug Foster has consented to take on Brian Irwin; Kevin Alloy will keep the snipers on stand-by.
  • Who is this "Governor General" who Kyle Hayden and Kevin Alloy made reference to at "Death of a Ladies' Man?" Reportedly he is someone whom Alloy and Hayden know very well and has experience dealing with Henry Spikes.

ET CETERA

Not a good week for me as fedhead, in spite of some outstanding work from you guys. Twelve matches for a midpoint card is too much. I rely on you guys a lot to formulate your own direction, but ultimately, I'm the guy who has to responsible for a final product, so I may have to be a bastard more often than not.

Now with that out of the way, Let's Talk. A few months ago, my father-in-law survived a bit of an emergency. Thankfully, he's doing well, but it did knock Wifey Adams and I out of our funk, since we live eight hours away. Long story short, some time in the spring we're moving back home and I may not have as much time for recording and editing matches as I do now. So just to warn you, they may be a disruption in service after Cornerstone Revolution V.

Gang, you now have a homework assignment. For your flashes for this War of the Words (unless they are for American Freebear, Derrick L. Ford, Julian Beckson, or Leon Corella), place an endorsement for Black Hole Brew beer!
